About Our Organization
The concept of the Armed Services Relief Committee came about on Veteran's Day 2010, when two of our present committee members, one of whom just had returned from a deployment in the Middle East, were talking and decided they wanted to do something to help our local returning wounded soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen.
Since that time, our organization has grown, allowing us to raise more money to help more veterans. After their service to our Nation, veterans face many problems. These problems can include injuries they sustained during their service, both physical and emotional, in addition to the financial burdens service to this great Nation can cause a veteran and his/her family. For example, reintegrating into the civilian workforce can be an issue because of the veteran's ingrained military culture, which often differs from civilian culture, a lack of available employment, stigmatization of veterans on the part of a potential employer, and the need to "start one's life over again" after completing a career of service. Further, while deployed, the veteran's family is often left to hold the "domestic reigns." Upon the veteran's return, he/she may face issues with household maintenance, missed payments, and any number of potential issues that an individual would face after being away from home for months at a time. These financial burdens are exacerbated when a service member faces the long road to recovery from physical or emotional injuries sustained in service to our Nation. While there certainly are programs administered through Veterans Affairs proposed to assist these individuals, often, these programs are insufficient to fully meet the needs of our struggling veterans. Our goal is to help address these gaps and to allow our veterans to recover from the financial burden that service to our Nation causes.
The Armed Forces Relief Committee members serve on a strictly voluntary basis and none of the money the organization raises goes to any member of the Committee. The Committee members include current military members, veterans, children of veterans, first responders, and local business owners. If you are interested in assisting with our fundraising programs, we welcome the support! Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

How have we helped?
The Armed Forces Relief Committee collects donations from generous contributors, such as yourself. Once a year, the Committee divides the donations into four equal amounts and redistributes them to our wounded military personnel through organization that serve Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy veterans.
In the past eight years, our organization has raised over $58,000.00 to support these veteran organizations.
Help us continue this important work by donating!
