I have been in full attendance at SBRHS since my Freshman year in 2020. Our school is not very big with roughly 1,200 students and this number has been seeing decreases. One major issue within the school is the problem with students misusing school amenities for their own benefit and in return wreak havoc in the halls. This includes students vaping and creating large crowds in the hallway. These students that vape will also often break things in the bathroom like the sink faucets, put graffiti on the stalls and walls, and host fights in the bathroom. Our administration in return to this will close many bathrooms in the school leaving everyone with only 1 bathroom with 3 stalls per floor- which used to be 2 stalls then they finally opened the third one, but the decreased bathroom sizes causes lines for the bathroom nearly every time I have to go and yet there are still always people vaping in the bathroom. I feel as though their attempt at addressing this issue is ineffective

I had a tough time at Somerset, which I consider the worst school I've attended. The atmosphere was cliquey, and being a transfer student made me a target for daily teasing. Additionally, the sports programs were underfunded, and you had to pay to participate. Despite playing three sports, the experience was subpar. The teachers were incredibly challenging, resembling college professors, and it felt like they led students on only to fail them at the end of the semester. Upon transferring to a private academy, my academic performance improved significantly, and I achieved a 4.0 GPA. Fortunately, I was accepted into a top 25 college. When asked about my time at Somerset, the college acknowledged similar issues. I described it as a place with poor administration, stuck-up parents, challenging teachers, and a negative culture.

At Somerset Berkley Regional High School there is plenty of different classes you can take, options of after school clubs, and a great community at the school. The athletic teams at the school offer plenty of opportunities to be involved in an athletic environment and bond with teammates. There a plenty of higher level and AP classes to also pick from here at the school.
